Where Passion, Creativity and Music Meets Community

Welcome To MilkLand

What Is MilkLand CIC?

MilkLand is a not-for-profit Community Interest Company (CIC) that delivers inclusive, sensory-led music experiences for people who face barriers to accessing mainstream music spaces.

We combine music, creative technology, and community connection to:

1. Support mental wellbeing

2. Reduce social isolation

3. Provide accessible music workshops

Create performance opportunities for emerging artists

Through workshops, community events, and festival partnerships, we use music as a tool for connection, confidence, and creativity.

Inclusive Music. Creative Community. Real Impact.

Why We Need Support

Funding allows us to deliver free and low-cost workshops to those who would otherwise be excluded from creative opportunities.

It enables us to purchase accessible equipment, support volunteer training, expand into schools and community settings, and reach individuals experiencing isolation.

Without external support, access becomes limited to those who can afford to participate. With funding, we remove barriers and widen opportunity.

What We Do

Inclusive Sensory Music Workshops

MilkLand delivers inclusive, sensory-led music workshops for people who face barriers to accessing traditional music spaces. We work with individuals with Special Educational Needs (SEN), neurodivergent young people and adults, and those experiencing social isolation or mental health challenges.

Our sessions are immersive and hands-on. Participants explore DJ equipment, electronic instruments, lighting, and sound in a supportive, judgement-free environment. The focus isn’t performance or perfection — it’s exploration, expression, and connection.

Music becomes a tool for building confidence, encouraging communication, supporting emotional regulation, and creating moments of shared joy. For many participants, these sessions provide a rare opportunity to engage in creative activity in a way that feels safe, stimulating, and inclusive.

Community Music Events with Purpose

Alongside our workshops, MilkLand produces community-focused music events that bring together local artists, volunteers, and audiences in inclusive, welcoming spaces.

These events serve two purposes. They create performance opportunities for emerging DJs and grassroots artists, and they help fund and expand our outreach work. By embedding our workshop model into wider festival environments — including collaborations such as our 2025 partnership with Boomtown Fair — we introduce accessible music-making to new communities while championing local talent.

Our events are not just entertainment; they are platforms for connection, visibility, and creative opportunity.

Access to Equipment and Creative Development

We believe financial barriers should never prevent someone from exploring their creativity. MilkLand provides access to DJ equipment, instruments, and informal mentoring to aspiring artists who may not otherwise have the resources to begin.

By opening up pathways into music, we help individuals take early steps into performance, production, and event involvement. Whether someone wants to experiment for the first time or build confidence before stepping onto a stage, we create supportive spaces where creativity can grow.

Our Story

MilkLand was founded during the COVID-19 pandemic in response to rising isolation and declining mental health within the music community

.

What began as a converted garage studio became a safe space where small groups could gather, create music, and reconnect.

In Summer 2022, we hosted our first multi-stage community festival featuring over 80 local DJs — marking our transition into a registered Community Interest Company (CIC).

Today, MilkLand operates as a mobile, community-focused organisation delivering workshops, outreach, and inclusive music events.
